Album Summary
The Jacksons: An American Dream is a soundtrack album from the American miniseries that was originally broadcasted in two halves from November 15 to 18, 1992 on ABC. The miniseries is based upon the history of the Jackson family, one of the most successful musical families in show business.
The miniseries was executive produced by Suzanne de Passe and Stan Margulies, produced by Joyce Eliason, Jermaine Jackson and Margaret Maldonado, and directed by Karen Arthur. The movie was filmed in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh.
The Jacksons: An American Dream miniseries is based on Katherine Jackson's My Family autobiography. A critical and commercial success, the program won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Choreography, while the performances of Hilton-Jacobs and Bassett received widespread acclaim.
The soundtrack features live recordings of Jackson 5 concerts from the early 1970s, songs previously released on studio albums, songs re-recorded by actors from the miniseries, and original music never before available.
